The 9^TH OF AV isn’t a day everyone takes notice of. But, if you are a practicing Jew, it’s a date that holds great historical and religious significance. On the Hebrew calendar, Av is the 5th month on the biblical calendar and it’s tied to mourning and fasting. This is because it was on the 9^th of Av that the Holy Temple in Jerusalem was destroyed–actually both temples were destroyed on this date, but in different years. The first Temple was destroyed in 586 BC and the second Temple in 70 AD. Because both temples were destroyed on this date, the 9^th of Av (also known as Tisha B Av) is considered the saddest day on the biblical calendar.

On the Gregorian calendar the arrival of the 9^th of Av will vary. Usually, it falls in July or August each year. In 2021, it will begin at sunset on July 17 and end at sundown on July 18. Many Jews will fast the entire day in remembrance of this tragic time in history.

For this blog, I’m not going to go into all the history of the 9^th of Av (Tisha B Av). If you want those details, click on this link.Keep in mind that the dates will vary, but the information about the history and connections will be the same.

What I want to focus on in this post is the idea of the Temple, and what it means to both Jews and Christians. I’m also going to tie it all together with what’s happening in the world today.

The Jewish people see the Temple as God’s sacred dwelling place where they could worship him. Sacrifices were made as well. When the Temples were destroyed, it was like a piece of their heart was ripped out because now there was no place to visit God and offer him praise and sacrifices. Of course, when the second Temple was destroyed, many Jews and Gentiles realized that even though the holy place had crumbled to the ground, a new Temple had come. This Temple, however, wasn’t a building–it was a man who came to earth as God himself–Jesus Christ. Jesus’ disciples and followers had seen God in the flesh. They experienced miracles and even a glorious resurrection! They saw Jesus die on the cross, but then three days later, he rose from the dead. At the time when Jesus resurrected, the second Temple was still standing. But before his death, he warned that it would soon be destroyed. 

“As Jesus left the temple and was walking away, His disciples came up to Him to point out its buildings. ‘Do you see all these things?’ He replied. ‘Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.’” Matthew 24:1-2

The Old Testament had already predicted that Jesus would be the chief cornerstone of a Living Temple in Isaiah 28:

“Therefore, thus says the Lord God,

‘Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone,

A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed.

He who believes in it will not be disturbed.’”

The disciples echoed this sentiment in the book of Acts:

“Let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health. He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief corner stone. And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”

Christians and Jews who know Jesus as the Savior do not mourn for the Temple like the Jews who don’t know Jesus as the Messiah.  To Jews who don’t know Jesus, the loss of the Temple is complete devastation. They long to see the actual building restored. In fact, right now the Temple Institute has all the materials and items needed to rebuild and recreate a third Temple. They are waiting for the right moment in history to do it.

Those who know Jesus as the Savior realize that the Temple is no longer a physical building or structure. Jesus became the living Temple and he gives those who receive him as Lord and Savior the honor and privilege (and miracle) of being able to house the Holy Spirit. Therefore, now, the Temple resides inside all believers/followers of Jesus. The physical Temple has become the spiritual Temple inside believers.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

1 Corinthians 3:16,17 reminds us:

^“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.”

So, what is the significance of the 9^th of Av for Christians, or Messianic Jews who follow Jesus as the Savior? Since they know their bodies are the Temple, then what significance is there to the 9^th of Av?  Well, right now, at this time in history, there is a message of huge importance. It doesn’t have to do with a physical temple, but with the temple that holds the Holy Spirit. It has to do with our bodies as human beings. Since our human bodies house the Holy Spirit and they are Temples, then they are to be treated in a holy way. They are also not meant to be manipulated in ways that distort or even permanently change what God originally created.

There are lots of ways we can mistreat and misuse our bodies, which are the Temple. But let’s get into some very specific examples of how sinful man is trying to destroy God’s Temple- which is our bodies as humans.  As I go over these examples, it should be a radar in your spirit. There are many things you may not even be aware of. It’s important we understand these things, however, so we can see how Satan continues to try to corrupt and destroy the seed of life.   

Genesis 3 describes how the serpent (Satan) tricked Eve so she would eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.  He told her she could be like God. When she and Adam ate from the tree, of course, God found out. He cursed the serpent and said to him:  “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed.”

Notice that God says he will put enmity between YOUR seed–which refers to Satan, and between HER seed ( which refers to human beings–particularly the lineage that would lead to the birth of the Messiah, Jesus Christ). This is important to understand because Satan wants his own seed.  He wants his own children.

The word being used in the verse for seed is zera and one of its meanings is semen, or to inseminate.  Yes, Satan has tried to sow his own seed, or create his own “kind.” If we go back to Genesis 6, we see that God dealt harshly with Satan’s seed spreading across the earth. The fallen angels were coming to earth and having sex with human women. Their children (SEED) were called the Nephilim. These hybrids were not formed by the seed God placed on the earth through Adam and Eve. The genes of man had been corrupted by fallen angels. So, God sent the flood. Satan’s goal was to destroy the human body God created by mixing the DNA of humans and fallen angels. Of course, he wanted it corrupted so the Messiah could not be born and save mankind. If he destroyed the genetic pool, he could prevent the birth of Jesus in a human Virgin woman named Mary. Also, Jesus would be born from the human blood line of King David. In addition, Jesus came to save humankind, not hybrids.

Fast forward to the time of Joshua and we see the Nephilim again. The Israelites were told to go into the land and wipe them out. But the gigantic stature of these beings filled them with fear– so much that ten of the twelve spies who ventured into the land returned to the people with a bad report. The genetically corrupted giants known as the Nephilim had a foothold in the land of milk and honey.

And here we are in 2021 and we are seeing a similar pattern. The means to the end is different, but the goal is the same–to desecrate the human body, or the genome (seed) that God created.

When God created the genes of man/woman, he made them in his image. He did not design their genes to be spliced, diced and mixed with animals. The same is true of plants. In Leviticus 19:19 it says, “‘Do not mate different kinds of animals…Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed.” When God finished creating man, plants and animals the Word says,” God saw all that he had made, and it was very good,” Genesis 1:31.

The human genome was mapped out years ago by scientists and from that point on, things have sped up like lightning. Many scientists believe in the idea of removing and replacing genes. Others believe in allowing technology to become part of the human body.

Right now, unprecedented things are happening and they involve permanently changing and even mixing the genes of humans and animals.  There are many, many examples to share. I only have time to skim the surface, but get ready to be awed or horrified.

Let’s begin with the first example. Scientists are looking at the possibility of using worm DNA in humans. Worms have the ability to regenerate parts of their bodies. The idea is to use this technology to help humans regrow body parts.

“A study at was led by the University of Washington (UW) and published shows that acorn worms can regrow every major body part – including the head, the internal organs, and their nervous system. In fact, nothing will stop them from being regenerated…The team of scientists in this project suggest that if they can unlock the genetic network pathways that controls the generation in the Acorn Worm, they might be able to regrow lost limbs in humans…This can be done via manipulating our own similar genetic heritage.”

I don’t know about you, but “manipulating our own genetic heritage” sounds like they are messing with God’s design. God made worms and humans with specific genetic codes and he knew what he was doing. He didn’t say humans could mix and match their DNA with worms or any other animal.

This may sound like science fiction, but it is very possible through CRISPR-Cas9 technology. These genetic scissors allow scientists to edit DNA quickly and easily. They can add or delete genes in no time at all. Unfortunately, they’ve realized that editing DNA can cause unwanted mutations and problems. Still, they continue to perfect this technology and plan on using it with humans.  Their goals range from curing cancer and dementia to becoming smarter and overcoming death. That’s a very broad range wouldn’t you say?

Let’s take a look at more ways God’s genetic Code of Life is being sliced, mixed and diced. Next up is pig–human hybrids. Scientists are actually working on creating pig-human hybrid fetuses so they can grow organs which can be transplanted into humans. They have also created mouse-rat and human-cow hybrids. Editing genes and using stem cells is an essential part of this process.

“To create chimaeras, scientists generally inject pluripotent stem cells — which can become any type of organ — from one species into the early embryo of a second species. In theory, the foreign cells should differentiate and spread throughout the body, but in practice, producing viable hybrid embryos has proven difficult.”

You know why it’s difficult? Because God didn’t intend for it to be done! He created humans and animals fearfully and wonderfully. Nonetheless, they keep trying to tamper with the Code of Life and will keep doing so. When humans do not respect the authority God has over the design of their bodies, they start building the Tower of Babel all over again. Man is trying to build using the wrong bricks– in this case, he is using synthetic DNA sequences and lab made experiments to build his own “Frankenstein.”

China leads the way in this Frankenstein technology and they continue to push the envelope further and further. They created the first human-monkey hybrid and shocked the world. Using Crispr-Cas9 technology they have also created designer babies.

We don’t need designer babies or humans. Scripture says, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them,” Genesis 1:27.

I could go on and on. Scientists say this technology can cure diseases and eradicate disabilities. But the problem is that they are tampering with what God already created. Editing the genes of humans desecrates the Temple for the Holy Spirit. The human body is where the Temple now resides for those who receive Christ. Even if you haven’t received Jesus as Savior, the body of humans is designed by God and removing or adding to the Code of Life is not only dangerous, but unbiblical. Humans were given dominion over the earth, but they were not given the authority to change the genetic code of living organisms that God carefully and intentionally placed here. God designed the web of life intricately and specifically. We can’t just go in with genetic scissors and change these things.

Even our trees, which give life-saving oxygen, are being tampered with. Transgenic trees are being made that glow in the dark.  An article in SyFy says this:

“There will soon be another way to experience Pandora besides going to Disney’s World of Avatar. A team of scientists led by Dr. Karen Sarkisyan and Dr. Ilia Yampolsky have found that unlike other methods of getting plants to glow in the dark, merging their DNA with that of autoluminescent mushrooms results in a life-form that lights up on its own. Previous methods left the hybrid plants still needing something to activate their powers. For these hybrids, all you need to add is darkness.”

They are also working on ways to produce trees that absorb more carbon dioxide and produce more wood. Some people may say, “That’s great! We won’t need streetlights and we will have less carbon dioxide.” Well, how about the fact that nature is being tweaked and corrupted! You can’t just change the atmosphere and the trees that produce the oxygen we breathe. God created trees and he designed them in unique and specific way. Getting back to humans, there are other ways they are trying to desecrate the Temple–our bodies. The use of nanotechnology is the wave of the future, but it’s also one of the primary ways Satan (through humans) will try to destroy the Temple of our bodies.

How could nanotechnology destroy our bodies? Well, the goals of many nano-tech enthusiasts are not only to improve the body, but to literally fuse the body with computers. Several names have been used for this such as: The Internet of Bodies, or Human 2.0.

In an April 2018 Ted Talk, MIT biomechantronics professor Hugh Herr, discusses neuro embodied design. He explains how we can become cyborgs and extend human potential. He says, “In this design process, designers contemplate a future in which technology no longer comprises separate, lifeless tools from our minds and bodies…a future in which technology has been carefully integrated within our nature–a world in which what is biological and what is not, what is human and what is not, what is nature and what is not will be forever blurred. That future will provide humanity new bodies.”

If you’re a Christian, you can already see a problem. He says, “what is human and what is not will be blurred”. Many of these nano-tech enthusiasts are transhumanists. This means they believe humans and machines can merge, allowing for the eradication of disabilities, aging and even death.

Billionaire Elon Musk pursues transhumanist goals that envision our brains being linked to computers and mobile devices. He’s invested over 100 million dollars in Neuralink, a neurotechnology company developing implantable brain interfaces. The website describes the implant like this: “Micron-scale threads are inserted into areas of the brain that control movement. Each thread contains many electrodes and connects them to an implant, the Link.” One of the goals of the Neuralink implant includes helping patients with paralysis and other neurological disorders. Of course, the possibilities are endless and will go far beyond just these goals.  Elon sees this technology as “God-like” but also cautions that it can be used for nefarious purposes, even creating “immortal dictators.” In essence, AI could become more dangerous than nuclear weapons.

Scientist and atheist Craig Venter is a transhumanist you should really keep your eye on. He and his team of genomic researchers decoded the genome of the first free-living organism–a bacterium known as Haemophilus influenzae. He also founded Celera Genomics, where he and his team developed the techniques needed to map the human genome. They also mapped the genetic code of the fruit fly, mouse and rat. By now, they have already sequenced the first complete diploid human genome, and have even created the first self-replicating bacterial cell that was made using synthetic DNA.

Why is this important? Because it’s people like Venter who believe they have the keys to creating life synthetically– in other words, he is trying to create life without God. By sequencing the human genome and creating synthetic life, he is on the fast track to changing what makes up humans.  In essence, it has been said that he is intent upon “giving life a complete makeover.”

Some of the projects he’s working on are being able to transplant “minimal genomes made from synthesized DNA into host cells whose genomes have been removed.” Artificial creatures are created in this way. Venter says, “We’re moving from reading the genetic code to writing it.” Venter caused a wave of indignation when in 2007 he filed a patent on the creation of a new life form called Mycoplasma laboratoriums. The question raised by many was–Can we patent a living thing? Even if it’s a synthesized living organism, can it be owned? 

Venter isn’t the only one trying to create synthetic life. Tom Knight, Drew Endy, Jay Keasling and George Church are also working on creating artificial biological systems from the ground up. Other scientists from prestigious schools like Harvard and MIT are working on “building a library or catalogue of interchangeable parts called BioBricks, or pieces of DNA with known functions.” New life forms can be created from these building blocks.

“Life is basically the result of an information process – a software process” says Venter, and “Starting with the information in a computer, we put it into a recipient cell, and convert it into a news species”.   Those are bold words from a man who will one day stand before his Creator and have to explain how he tried to play God. What will he say then?

I could go on and on with examples. You can easily see the big picture. They are trying to make life without God. They are tampering and changing the genes God created and placed into plants, animals and humans. They are editing and changing the seed of life.  As they change God’s design for humans, they are desecrating the Temple of our bodies. The battering ram is the gene editing technology and nano tech they are using to rewrite the Code of Life. This desecration of the Temple is being led by researchers who are anti-God, or those do not respect the sovereignty of God’s creative hand. Believe it or not, some Christians (or those that claim to be) are championing this kind of research. If you check out this link, you will see how many are changing the Word of God to fit their evolutionary beliefs.

Even the new covid “vaccines” being used are a stepping stone of this ultimate goal toward desecrating the Temple. The Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, and AstraZenica “vaccines” are the first to use mRNA and vector technology in humans. These “vaccines” are really genetic therapies. A synthetic mRNA sequence is being injected into those who take the shots. This is not conspiracy theory. Moderna formulated their mRNA sequence on a computer and then it was created synthetically. If you have time to read through the patent, you can do that here. You will clearly see that CRISPR-Cas 9 genome editing technology was used in creating the “vaccine” and is listed in the patent. Moderna’s own website calls the “vaccine” an operating system.  Personally, I am not ok with an “operating system” being placed in my body or any kind of synthetic genomic sequence telling my body what to do. By the way, Pfizer uses the same technology. Johnson and Johnson and AstraZenica use vector technology, but it also involves manipulation of DNA in order to create what they call immunity. 

If you received the “vaccine” that is your personal choice. But I can see where this technology is going. There has been no long-term safety testing to determine what these shots will do to our bodies (our Temples) in the long run. No testing was done to determine what happens years from now. All the “vaccines” were rolled out in under seven months! As of now, over 10,000 people have died in the United States, according to VAERS reports (Vaccine Adverse Reporting System). A few days after I posted this, the CDC made a claim that there was a glitch in the system and the real number of deaths are around 6,000. When I wrote this the numbers showed 10,991 deaths, but that number may change if the CDC gets their way. I don’t trust a word they say because from the very beginning they have lied. And even if the deaths were at 6,000 just take that number and multiply by 10 because it’s been well documented that the VAERS system only captures ten percent of the real numbers. In addition there are other systems reporting deaths and injuries. In fact, Ohio attorney Tom Renz has filed a lawsuit against the federal government, alleging that over 45,000 deaths have been covered up. For more info, check out this link.

Aside from deaths, serious adverse reactions are documented at over 400,000. Thousands have developed Bell’s Palsey, Guillain-Barre syndrome, heart problems, blood clots and neurodegenerative disorders. This is as of July 9, 2021. By the time you click on these links, the numbers may have increased. These shots are harming the human body on a grand scale. I’m not saying you’ve desecrated your bodily temple if you’ve received a covid shot. But the goal of this technology is not “roses and candy canes.” There is a push toward altering human genetics and this is just one path they can use to accomplish future goals. I don’t have time to go into all the details, but scientists are looking at ways to use injections to “tweak” our genes. I’m not saying they are doing this now with these shots. Honestly, without proper testing and complete transparency, we do not know for sure. But, the end game is the same– to mess with the original design of our God-given bodies. I do not trust the covid injections because they are tied to a transhumanist agenda. For more info, watch these videos.

Back in High School I read Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and I never forgot it. Victor Frankenstein tried to create life, but what he ended up making was a monster. Depending on the version you read, he either dug up dead bodies in a cemetery, or went to charnel houses (also known as the morgue or dissecting rooms) to get the parts needed to create a human being. Either way, he used parts from dead bodies. Most movies show the body being charged with lightning and this is what brings the creature to life. Technically, the original book does not describe exactly how Victor was able to give life to the creature. However, earlier hints in the book allude to the use of electricity. Nevertheless, once Victor Frankenstein sees his creation come to life, he is horrified and sick to his stomach.

Victor becomes terrified of his own creation and rejects it completely. The creature does not respond well to this rejection and becomes angry, depressed and eventually murderous. Victor is not able to fix the problem he’s created and instead tries to hide from what he’s done. His effort to “play God” brings him continual suffering and torment. The creature even kills several people he loves. All of this shows that when man tries to create life apart from God, it only leads to disillusionment, misery, death and despair.

Man is trying to do the same thing right now. He’s trying to create life without God. Doing this is like using dead parts from a graveyard. Why? Because without the breath of life from God (the spirit) the human body is nothing more than a shell.  To become a child of God we must receive the Holy Spirit from Jesus. This makes our body the Temple of the Holy Spirit and gives us the promise of eternal life. Synthetic life isn’t life. It’s Frankenstein.  If man keeps doing this, like Victor Frankenstein, he will be ruined by his creation.

The book ends with both Victor and the creature in severe states of depression. Both are overcome with grief and thoughts of suicide. Why? Because Victor detested what he did and the creature hated who he was. The lesson? Man is not the creator and when he tries to become one, he desecrates his creation. Contrary to popular belief, the name of the creature was not Frankenstein- it was the name of the creator.  Truth be told, it is man who creates the “monsters” in this world. Satan and his minions are the influencers of course.

 The Code of Life is not to be tampered with. Life is sacred and it’s meant to stay in the hands of the ONE AND ONLY CREATOR- JESUS CHRIST.

Revelation 4:11 says: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

This Tisha B Av (9^th of Av) let us remember that only God has the power to create life and the way we receive eternal life is through his Son Jesus Christ. Our bodies were fearfully and wonderfully made to house the Holy Spirit. As we watch the world becoming infused with genetic manipulation and AI, let’s set our Temples apart.  Let’s remember that God’s design is better than any manmade upgrade or “renovation.”
