Hurricane: A violent tropical cyclone with winds moving at 73 or more miles per hour, often accompanied by torrential rains, and originating in the West Indian region.

The Online Etymology Dictionary says this about the word hurricane.

“Sea-storm of severest intensity, 1550s, a partially deformed adoption of Spanish huracan (Gonzalo Fernandez de Oviedo y Valdés, “Historia General y Natural de las Indias,” 1547-9), furacan (in the works of Pedro Mártir De Anghiera, chaplain to the court of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella and historian of Spanish explorations)– In Portuguese, it became furacão. The word is first used in English in Richard Eden’s ‘Decades of the New World.’”

A hurricane is a force to be reckoned with. Some will say that it’s Mother Nature in all her glorious fury. Others will insist that “climate change” caused by humans is producing all these monster storms. While neither of those are true, there is something else that could be stirring up the onslaught of hurricanes in the past 20 years.

Firstly, we must keep in mind that “Mother Nature” doesn’t exist.

GOD, however, does exist and he created our earth and the weather.

Many will point to “supposed research” from climate change activists to support their idea that violent weather is being caused by rising carbon dioxide levels. These levels, they preach, are the direct result of fossil fuel use, or from farm animals and nitrogen fertilizers. Of course, they will also point to the fact that human beings are overpopulating the planet and simply breathing.  This is all a lie to cover up the truth that our government, as well as many sketchy corporations, are involved with geoengineering.

What is geoengineering?

This is the process by which man attempts to engineer or change the weather. I know it sounds like a conspiracy theory, but this fact isn’t even hidden. Cloud seeding is one example of geoengineering and it’s easy to find proof that it exists. Planes are actually spraying nanoparticles of aluminum into our atmosphere to block the sun. So-called experts say it will help with climate change. Unfortunately, they are manipulating the natural design of the earth’s climate patterns. While I would love to write about this rabbit trail, the purpose of this blog is to focus on how the High Holy Days often coincide with hurricanes. It will also address why our nation has experienced so many intense hurricanes over the years.

I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. To this day I still live here so I can attest to the fact that growing up as a child, I don’t remember any major hurricanes. It wasn’t until Hurricane Andrew in 1992 that I even thought about them. By then I was just out of high school, but up to that point I had never experienced a hurricane, or even worried about one.

Flash forward to NOW and I feel like every time September/October rolls around, I am monitoring the news for hurricanes. Hurricane season begins in June each year and ends in November, but these hurricanes tend to make their debut in the Fall.

The High Holy Days- which include Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets), Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) and Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkoth) coincide with hurricane season because they will always arrive in September and October each year on the Gregorian solar calendar. The biblical month of Elul, also known as the month of repentance and awakening, will arrive a month before the High Holy Days. During this time, believers are supposed to be seeking a closer relationship with God through repentance and fasting. The shofar (trumpet) is blasted in synagogues around the world each day during the month of Elul as a wake-up call. It’s a reminder that the King is coming back soon and all believers should be ready for that glorious day! This means it’s important to repent and turn our hearts toward God. In essence, we turn away from the sins of the world.

As Elul ends, the Feast of Trumpets begins, ushering in the new biblical year (keep in mind that the biblical new year isn’t the same as “New Year’s” which is celebrated in January every year). Some biblical scholars believe this particular appointed holiday (Feast of Trumpets/Rosh Hashanah) points to the return of Jesus because the trumpet is sounded 100 times and is tied to the return of the king. Even though these appointed times are often called “Jewish holidays,” it’s important to understand that the Bible lists them in Leviticus 23 as God’s festivals/holidays/appointed times. In fact, all of these special holidays are prophetic in nature and point to Jesus, who of course, is Jewish.

Ten days after the Feast of Trumpets is Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), which is known as the National Day of Repentance and Judgement. Back in ancient Israel, this was the day when God judged the nation and determined whether it would be blessed or cursed. Everyone in Israel fasted and prayed in hopes that God would forgive national sins. In biblical times, Israel’s national sins included things like idolatry, Baal worship, child sacrifice, widespread fornication, greed and injustice to name a few. This sounds a lot like what’s happening in America right now….

The last High Holy Day is the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkoth). During the eight days of this holiday, believers eat their meals in a tabernacle (little shelter) that reminds them of the ancient Israelites’ journey through the wilderness. There is dancing, eating, singing and lots of celebrating during this observance because it’s a reminder that one day Jesus will return and tabernacle with us on earth. We will no longer have to wander the desert in our sins.

If you were to put all the hurricanes our nation has experienced throughout our history on a calendar/timeline, you would find that most fall during the biblical month of repentance known as Elul, or near one of the High Holy Days.

Why would hurricanes and holy days coincide?

Well, it makes sense because the High Holy Days are God’s appointments. They are times when mankind is given the opportunity to meet with God on a deeper level and draw closer to him. It’s not that you can’t meet with God at other times during the year. But the High Holy Days are appointed times that God has set aside for specific purposes and they remind us that God is in charge of the world and our lives. Their arrival each year urges people to get their spiritual lives in order so they can follow God more closely. This idea of “getting right with God” applies to individuals, but also to entire nations. As the United States of America experiences hurricanes year after year, with most of them occurring during or near the High Holy Days, it’s important to realize that our country is at a pivotal time where repentance is needed. Whether its abortion, gender ideology, or the rampant support of anti-biblical policies, the United States of America is spiraling like a hurricane into oblivion.

Right now, as I type this, Hurricane Milton is barreling towards my home state. For me, and many people around the U.S., hurricanes have become a regular, formidable threat.

2004 and 2005 were pivotal hurricane years

The trend of bigger, more powerful hurricanes has a pattern. In fact, we can go back to the years 2004 and 2005 to see that this is the pivotal time when hurricanes became prominent, extremely active, and threatening.

These two years were record- breaking in terms of hurricane activity and destruction. In 2004 alone, there were six hurricanes that reached Category 3 intensity. Here in Florida, we had four hurricanes barrel through the state that year: Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne. I personally witnessed the fury of Hurricane Charley when it blasted through Orlando. It came through quickly, but did a lot of damage. Trees were down everywhere and many roads were completely blocked. Power outages lasted more than ten days in some areas.

2004 was bad, but 2005 was even worse. It became the most active and destructive on record up to that point. Four intense hurricanes made landfall in the U.S. that year— Dennis, Katrina, Rita and Wilma.

There were other records that were set in 2005 such as:

There were 28 named storms (previous record was 21 in 1933)

15 hurricanes in the season (previous record was 12).

There were four Category 5 hurricanes which broke the previous record of 2.

Hurricane Emily became the earliest Category 5 hurricane to develop in the Atlantic.

Seven tropical storms formed prior to August 1, 2005 (previous record was 5 set in 1997).

It was the latest end to any hurricane season.

It was the first season ever to use the Greek alphabet for naming storms (we went through the whole English alphabet first!)

The most destructive hurricane in recorded history (up to that time) hit the United States. It was none other than Hurricane Katrina.

Let’s focus on Hurricane Katrina. This monstrous hurricane cost upwards of 100 billion dollars in damages. It was the most economically damaging hurricane on record when it hit in 2005. The brunt of the Katrina’s fury hit New Orleans, Louisiana.

This violent storm hit the Gulf Coast on August 29, 2005 as a Category 3 storm with winds as high as 140 miles per hour. Though the winds were strong and fierce, the real damage came from the severe flooding that occurred after levees and seawalls failed. An unbelievable storm surge overwhelmed the levees and drainage canals, breaching over fifty at one point. While many people evacuated, those left behind were stranded in what became chaotic conditions. Over 1,000 people died in Louisiana alone.

The super active hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005 left many people scratching their heads as to why those two years were so horribly intense compared to all previous hurricane seasons. But, in order to unravel this mystery, we must look at what else was happening during this time.

Land Deals in Israel

Well, it just so happens that at this time the United States was involved in a historic land deal. George W. Bush was actively involved in negotiations with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in 2004 to convince him that Israel should give the Gaza Strip and parts of the West Bank to the Palestinians. In an April 14, 2004 letter to Israel’s Prime Minister, Bush lays out his blessing for this plan. The deal meant that Israeli citizens would have to leave their homes so that the Palestinians could move in. The process of moving out the Israelis and moving in the Palestinians would take time, but by 2005, the entire process would be complete.

And here is where Hurricane Katrina comes in. Keep in mind that it was the costliest, most destructive hurricane to hit the United States at that time in our history.

Months before this devastating hurricane slammed into our land, the deadline for evacuation was given to all Israelis in Gaza–August 16, 2005. By this date, all Israeli citizens left their land and were forced to move somewhere else in Israel. But twelve days after this deadline, something else happened. On August 28, 2005, Israeli Defense Forces were no longer evacuating people. Instead, they were removing dead bodies from the Gush Katif Cemetery in Gaza. They could not leave these bodies behind because the Palestinians would desecrate the gravesites. So, on this date, the bodies were removed from the soil– from Israel’s land. Actually, this was the date the last Jewish body was removed from all of the Gaza Strip.

On the same date that these bodies were removed from Israel as part of the plan to give the land to the Palestinians, Hurricane Katrina reached Category 5 status in the Gulf of Mexico, with sustained winds of 175 miles per hour. One day later, Katrina would make landfall in Louisiana and Mississippi as a Category 4 hurricane, but quickly weakening to a strong Category 3. This was still intense enough to wreak complete havoc and destruction in New Orleans and other places within those states.

It’s eerie to note that as Hurricane Katrina made its rounds, there were upwards of 1000 coffins that came up out of the ground throughout Louisiana. People were horrified as they witnessed these coffins floating down the streets and into the city. Interestingly enough, the final disengagement of Gaza occurred on September 11, 2005. On that date Israeli Defense Forces lowered the last Israeli flag. The land transaction was officially complete.

Over in America, our nation was mourning the loss of thousands of lives that were tragically taken on September 11, 2001— just four years earlier. September 11 is the date that America’s land was attacked by terrorists.

But four years after terrorists devastated America on 9-11, the United States leadership played a crucial role in coercing Israel to give its God-given land away to terrorists.

The specific place that Hurricane Katrina hit so powerfully was New Orleans. The Super dome is located in this city and unprecedented devastation occurred in this very spot.

What many people don’t realize is that New Orleans has great historic significance when it comes to the superpower status of our nation.

New Orleans and America’s Superpower Status are Connected

It all goes back to April 30, 1803 when President Thomas Jefferson purchased over 828,000 square miles of land from France. This important land transaction literally doubled the size of our young nation overnight. This massive chunk of land would eventually become at least 14 states!  The interesting part is that initially Jefferson only set out to buy New Orleans and some small areas of Florida.

Why did Jefferson want to buy New Orleans?

The goal was to retain trade along the Mississippi River, which was vital to the shipment of goods. Jefferson wanted to buy this land from France (who owned the area at the time) and had set aside 10 million to make the purchase. To Jefferson’s shock, Napoleon made an unbelievable offer. He would not only sell New Orleans, he would sell the entire Louisiana Territory – (keep in mind the Louisiana Territory wasn’t the size of the state of Louisiana! It was massive- as I wrote before, it was 828,000 square miles).

Of course, the United States jumped right on that deal and signed on the dotted line. From this point on, America made history. She would go on to become a land with vast resources. Much of this prosperity would be rooted in this new land. The once small thirteen colonies had been handed the deal of a lifetime.  This 828,000 square miles of land garnered during the Louisiana Purchase would be the first land gained as a new nation. The U.S. didn’t obtain it by war or bullying. No, it was handed to them.

Who do you think really handed it to our nation?   God of course. The U.S. bought it from France, but God had his fingerprints all over it.

The significance of gaining this new land cannot be understated. It essentially kept land in our hands, and away from the Spanish, French and British. As time went on, the United States’ influence and power would become unparalleled. This one purchase helped America become a superpower.

Putting all these clues together, it’s easy to see that when the United States brokered a land deal that involved giving Israel’s land away, they were hit with powerful hurricanes two years in a row. They were also hit with the most economically devastating hurricane in U.S. history at the very spot where America gained superpower status.

Unfortunately, the trend of intense hurricanes continues up to this very day because we have seen steady waves of devastating hurricanes since 2004/2005.

Why? Liberal government leaders continue to either push for a Palestinian state, or allow the idea to be an open option. Israel is also continually pressured to give up more land. Obama, Biden and Harris openly support a Palestinian state and are no friends to Israel.

The Bible clearly tells us that God gave the biblical homeland to the nation of Israel. Anyone who interferes and tries to encourage them to give up their land is subject to God’s judgment.

There’s a great book that documents all the natural disasters our nation has experienced after entering into negotiations over Israel’s God-given land. It is called EYE TO EYE and it was written by Bill Koenig. Here is his website and a link for his book (this is not an affiliate link). Also, here is a broadcast which features Bill Koenig.

Now let’s fast forward to 2024. The date I am typing this blog is October 7, 2024—- this means it’s been exactly one year since Israel was brutally attacked by the very people they gave land to back in 2005— the Palestinians and Hamas.

Supposedly the land deal in 2005 would bring peace to the region. What happened is almost 20 years of constant attacks and rocket fire. Keep in mind that the United States helped make this deal happen.

After the October 7, 2023 attacks on Israel, you would expect all of the U.S. government to strongly condemn Hamas. But that’s not what happened. The Biden Administration, as well as scores of wayward American citizens, have instead supported these terrorists who want nothing more than to wipe every Jew off the face of the earth. Hamas’s own charter says that their goal is to kill Jews.

Even after the terrorists of Gaza murdered and tortured thousands of Jews, the Biden Administration not only supports them, but they also want them to have their own state!

It doesn’t matter if the Palestinian government builds terror tunnels with all the money they receive as aid by the United States and other countries.

It doesn’t matter if they use their own people as human shields.

It doesn’t matter if they collude with Iran to attack Israel with ballistic missiles and other weapons.

The Biden Administration, as well as many of our Democratic Senators and Representatives, continue to tell Israel that they must stop pursuing the terrorists that killed innocent women, men and children. These same terrorists have been shooting rockets and other projectiles at Israel since 2005 when the land was given to them!

Since the October 7 attack, the antisemitism in our nation has gone off the rails with protests on college campuses and in public places. We have a large population of people, as well as government leaders, who think the Palestinians are oppressed by Israel. This couldn’t be further from the truth because the only oppressors are Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. These terrorists spend every cent of money on trying to attack and destroy Israel, or they use it to line their own pockets. They do nothing to help their own people, but instead incite violence and hatred for Jewish people.

As a nation, if our leaders keep supporting Israel’s enemies— if our citizens continue participating in anti-Israel protests—if antisemitism spreads like a virus—- then we are inviting God’s righteous judgment.

Anyone who would choose to support terrorism rather than the Jewish people’s biblical right to live peacefully in their land is poking God in the eye.

By the way, if you are interested in following the latest news on the war in Gaza, this website is good, as well as this one. If you are watching the regular news, you won’t be getting the right information. Intercessors for America also does a great job posting articles and information weekly about what’s really going on in Israel.

Hurricane Helene and Milton

Now let’s talk about the more recent hurricanes that are happening. We have seen the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which struck the Florida Panhandle, parts of Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee on September 26. This happened during the biblical month of Elul, and just a week before Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets). A 500-mile path of destruction followed Helene, but the city of Asheville, North Carolina was hit particularly hard. Entire communities were wiped away as flooding ravaged the area. Hundreds are dead and many more are presumed missing.

The devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Helene could make it one of the costliest hurricanes to ever hit the United States.

But wait, because there is one more on the way. As I type this blog, Hurricane Milton is churning up in the ocean and on its way to Florida. It was a five at one point, but has now become a 4. The current projection downgrades it to a 3 when it hits the western coast. It may enter near Tampa/St. Petersburg first and then eventually make its way across central Florida where I live. Then it will exit the state and enter the Atlantic Ocean.

The crazy thing about Hurricane Milton is that this storm intensified in the blink of an eye. In fact, I happened to be in Maine to view the beautiful fall foliage and before I left, there was no threat at all from Milton. I actually left on Rosh Hashanah (October 3). See pics below…

Three days into my trip, I found out that all of a sudden Milton had gone from a tropical depression to a tropical storm! Very quickly afterward it became a hurricane. Before anyone could say, “Oh no a hurricane is coming,” this storm morphed into the most powerful hurricane of all— a category 5—this happened within 24 hours. Milton is now categorized as the most rapidly intensifying storm on record!!!

An important point to note is that Milton went from a harmless tropical depression to a tropical storm on October 4. Rosh Hashanah began at sunset on October 2, lasting through October 4.

Also, when Hurricane Milton finally hits, it will be in the early morning hours of Thursday, October 10— this just happens to be the day before Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement). This High Holy Day is tied to national repentance because it was the one day of the year that the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies and plead for mercy on the nation. Here is an article about that if you are interested.

Between 1 p.m. Sunday October 6, and 1 p.m. Monday, October 7, Milton’s wind speed went from 80 mph to 175 mph and its pressure dropped. Most of that intensification happened over just 12 hours, according to the Associated Press.

The liberal legacy media news outlets will blame intense hurricanes on climate change.

I can assure you—That’s not what it is.

These powerful, rapidly intensifying hurricanes are because our nation is steeped in sin, and many of our leaders and citizens have turned their backs on Israel.

Abortion is one of our nation’s most grievous national sins. Sadly, even though Roe vs. Wade was overturned in 2022, there are large numbers of citizens and lawmakers who want abortion to be the law of the land. This includes presidential candidate Kamala Harris and Vice-presidential candidate Tim Waltz. Both are staunch advocates for abortion at any stage of pregnancy. They call the murder of innocent babies “healthcare” or reproductive justice.

If you can stomach it, I want you to look at the images below which are from Live Action.

Do you see how these precious, innocent babies were dissected and mutilated?

I can assure you that a price will be paid when a nation allows its most innocent to be murdered.

I am a Republican and I support the Republican party, but I am very disappointed that the party’s new position is that they will no longer support a federal ban on abortion. Additionally, there is now support for the abortion pill which is given early in pregnancy. While this position is much better than the one that Harris and Waltz support, it still allows innocent babies to be killed at the early stages of life.

The full passage in the new GOP platform on abortion reads,

“We proudly stand for families and life. We believe that the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States guarantees that no person can be denied life or liberty without due process and that the states are, therefore, free to pass laws protecting those rights. After 51 years, because of us, that power has been given to the states and to a vote of the people. We will oppose late term abortion while supporting mothers and policies that advance prenatal care, access to birth control, and IVF (fertility treatments).”

Basically, abortion laws will be placed into the hands of the states. But it’s important to remember that ALL OF THE STATES ARE PART OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

We should never give up on stopping the murder of innocent children at any stage of life.

Abortion at any stage is never ok in God’s eyes.

Many will say that we need to soften the Republican abortion stance to garner votes.

To that I say, THE ONLY VOTE WE NEED IS GOD’S VOTE and I can assure you that God does not tolerate abortion at any stage.

My hope is that the RNC platform will change back to what it was previously so we support life at ALL STAGES.

The truth is that President Trump has done so much for the pro-life movement and he has worked hard to protect babies in this country. He has been attacked and vilified for taking a stand against abortion. I am definitely voting for Donald Trump, but my hope is that if he is elected, he will continue the work of protecting babies at EVERY STAGE OF LIFE. I am very appreciative of what he has done already by placing pro-life Supreme Court Justices in our high court.

On the flip side, if Harris/Waltz are elected, they will do nothing to protect life at any stage and you can be sure that they will try to enshrine abortion as the law of the land. Scary stuff!!!

If prominent, liberal leaders in our nation continue supporting abortion, the LGBTQ agenda, Big Pharma vaccines, and terrorism, we will likely see even more storms and who knows what else. We also cannot support the formation of a Palestinian state or the division of Israel’s biblical land.

Supporting Harris/Waltz is a sure way to move us much quicker down the path of the Titanic! They hold to an anti-God, Marxist platform that can only drag our nation to the bottom of the ocean.

But to be honest, we are in deep waters right now if the majority of our nation’s citizens don’t turn their faces towards Jesus. Many people don’t care about God’s commandments or following Him. Others are lukewarm toward Jesus.

Again, this is why hurricanes occur during the High Holy Days, or near them. It reminds people that God is who they need! It reminds them of the one who is in charge of everything. But the holy days also urge people to turn from their sins as they turn toward God.

When I initially saw that the name of the hurricane was MILTON, I immediately searched the word on the internet. Interestingly enough, I found out there was a celebrated English poet called John Milton. He is most famous for his epic poem titled PARADISE LOST. It addresses the fall of man, including the temptation of Adam and Eve by the fallen angel Satan.

In the United States of America, we have so much to be thankful for. We live in a paradise given to us by God. We have been blessed with prosperity and freedom. But we can lose all of this if we go the way of Satan.

Satan hates Israel and he wants the Jewish people destroyed.

Satan sanctions the shedding of innocent blood (such as aborted babies)

Satan hates the concept of marriage between a man and a woman. His desire is to destroy the image of male and female that God created.

Satan wants the genetic code that God designed for humans to be corrupted. Therefore, mRNA vaccines, or any other genetic manipulation is fine with him.

Paradise Lost by John Milton shows what happens when man follows Lucifer instead of God. A big FALL always happens.

Those of us who do not support anti-biblical policies might wonder, “Why do we get punished for what others do?”

Keep in mind that in the Bible those who stood up for righteousness were sometimes caught up in difficult times as their communities and nations fell apart. For instance, the prophet Daniel was carried into Babylon during the 70 years of captivity. Though Daniel was a man who followed God fully, he still had to endure many hard years in a pagan nation. Despite all this, he shined like a bright star as he stood up for God’s principles and the truth.  As Christians, we are called to do the same thing. God is with us no matter what’s going on and he will use us as a beacon of light in a dark place.

Another point to think about is the fact that some of these hurricanes could be the result of weather manipulation (geoengineering). Of course, God can put a stop to this any time he wants. But he can also allow these things to happen so people will wake up and turn to Him. People often look to man for the answers when they should be looking to God. No matter what the reason is for hurricanes, they remind mankind that he needs a Savior. Looking to government or rich intellectuals and tech moguls will not save the world or the climate.

More hurricanes will come and go. God, however, will always be there, waiting for humanity to turn their eyes toward Him and receive his free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

I don’t know exactly what will happen when Hurricane Milton hits. I will be posting this before it reaches my state. But no matter what, my prayer is that our nation will turn back to God and to his commandments. As the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) arrives, I pray that many hearts would turn back to our Creator.

Hurricanes twist and turn and cause lots of chaos. But there is someone who can calm the storm!

On my last day in Maine before coming home to Florida to prep for the hurricane, I stayed at a hotel with a graveyard behind it. See pic below.

At first, this felt ominous. After all, a dangerous hurricane was on its way and here I am staying next to a cemetery. That couldn’t be a good sign.

But then I looked at my hotel keys. Yes, I received actual keys instead of a card.

If you look at the keys you’ll see the numbers 119 on them.

The first thing that came to mind was something I had written in Psalm 91 Under the Wings of Jesus. Actually, it was one of the themes.

JESUS IS OUR 911.

If you look at the keys you can see that 119 is 911 backwards.

Whether it’s a health crisis, accident or an extreme weather event, Jesus is always our 911. We can call out to him anytime. Of course, my favorite “go to” verses are from Psalm 91.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.

For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge—
no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.

For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.

You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”

If we truly believe what Psalm 91 says, then we shouldn’t fear anything—- not even death.

This world is in a state of chaos, but I know that at some point Jesus is going to return and set everything straight.

Hurricanes and other natural disasters are just birth pangs reminding me that His return is very soon. The birth pangs will increase just like the pains of a woman about to give birth. So while natural disasters can be frightening, they are also a reminder that HE IS COMING BACK!

PSALM 119

Another thing the keys reminded me of is Psalm 119.  This is actually the longest chapter in the Bible and it focuses on the truth that God’s Word is what sustains us. The entire psalm is a praise to God’s laws, character and sovereignty.

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the Lord.
Blessed are those who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart—

No matter what comes— even a hurricane—we can be assured that if we walk with Jesus, we will be covered under His wings. He will walk through the wind, the flood, the fire and the rain with us. As Hurricane Milton gets closer, I will cling to this truth…

The Beautiful Maine landscape during Rosh Hashanah 2024…..
